the process

every step of the process is carried out by hand by their artisans where each basket takes approximately 2 weeks from start to finish. the maker cuts the reed cane then leaves them to dry in the sun for several weeks. they are then treated to clarify or dyed with colour, and woven starting at the base of the basket and ending at the handle, made of willow branch.
